Animyths is a slate of animation feature films that bring to life the untold stories behind the most sacred and popular places of worship and pilgrimage destinations from around the world. SLATE I of ANIMYTHS stories focus on stories from India. The temples that are featured in this slate collectively attract a footfall of over 200 million visitors every year, from all over the world.

One of the most ancient civilizations of the world, India is considered by many to be the spiritual center of the world. Religious mythology is part of India’s DNA, and religion based content is the staple of animation projects. The stories in SLATE 1 therefore not only cater to the Indian audience but have a strong international appeal. 

Gods, demons and legendary adventures...

The films will delve into the legends behind these temples and explore the fascinating world of Gods, demons and angels. The initial set features the great temples of Kashi (21M+ pilgrims p.a) and Tirupati (19M+ p.a). The epic battle between the Gods and the Demons that forms the legend of the Maha Kumbh and the glorious Godesses of Vaishno Devi and Kamakhya are also featured. 

The films will be made using a combination of 2D and mocap technology, drawing inspiration from the great age of illustration.  These movies will be rich and detailed, with beautifully crafted characters, and vivid, faithful dramatisation. ANIMYTHS Animation Films will be benchmarked to contemporary Hollywood standards.
